PhD student position in Philosophy at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society

·

    Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is a young and lively university, a hub of opportunity open to the world where students are offered a quality interdisciplinary education in which they can be fully engaged and take center stage, and where our researchers can count on having the space to freely pursue their initiative.
    Established in 1996, USI is in constant evolution, always taking on new challenges while remaining true to its three guiding principles: quality, openness and responsibility.

    The Master program in Philosophy at USI:

    • stands out for the international stature of its professors;
    • is research-oriented, aimed at preparing its students for the most demanding PhD-programmes around the world;
    • focuses on four core areas: Metaphysics, Philosophy of Mind, Logic, Philosophy of Science;
    • requires students to submit regular written work, to produce research papers and to develop their presentation and discussion skills;
    • guarantees a personal tutor, who is one of the professors of the Master and provides regular one-on-one tutorials, feedback on written work, and guidance about future academic careers.

    USI invites applications for a research and teaching PhD position in Philosophy (100%, 4 years).
